Online Alarm

Last updated: 2026-06-25

TL;DR

The online alarm is a free web alarm clock that rings an alarm sound when the time (hours:minutes) you set arrives. If the set time has already passed, it is automatically calculated for the next day.

Use it for anything you need to be reminded of at a specific time, such as waking up, taking medication, meetings, or pickups; the tab for this page must stay open for the alarm to work.

Current time

--:--:--
A time earlier than now is set for the next day.

This alarm is a supplementary aid. Depending on browser and device power-saving policies, the alarm may be delayed, so for important wake-up alarms use it together with your phone's built-in alarm app.

How to use

  1. Set the time — Enter the time the alarm should ring in hours and minutes. If the time is earlier than now, it is automatically set for the next day.
  2. Turn on the alarm — Press Set alarm and the time remaining until the set time is shown while the alarm waits.
  3. Alarm rings — When the set time arrives, the alarm sound rings repeatedly. Press the Stop button to silence it.

Online alarm uses and cautions

An online alarm is a tool that alerts you with a sound when a specific time arrives. While a countdown timer tells you "in OO minutes from now," an alarm is based on a fixed clock time such as "7 AM" or "2:30 PM." It is useful when you need to act at a specific time on the clock, such as waking up, medication times, the start of meetings or classes, or a child's pickup time.

A web alarm only works while the browser tab is open, and its accuracy can vary depending on device power saving and background policies. Therefore, for alarms you absolutely cannot miss, it is safest to also use your phone's built-in alarm app. If you need an alert after a set amount of time from now, use the countdown timer; for managing focus time, use the Pomodoro timer.

Frequently asked questions (FAQ)

Will the alarm ring if I close the browser?

No. This online alarm runs in the browser tab, so if you fully close the tab or browser the alarm will not ring. The tab for this page must stay open for the alarm to sound. If the device is turned off or goes into deep sleep, the alarm may be delayed, so for important wake-up alarms we recommend also using your phone's built-in alarm app.

What happens if I set a time that has already passed?

If you set a time earlier than the current time, it is automatically calculated for the same time the next day rather than today. For example, if it is 3 PM now and you set 7 AM, the remaining time is shown so the alarm rings at 7 AM tomorrow.

The alarm sound is not playing.

Because of browser autoplay policies, you must click a button on the page at least once (interact) for sound to play. Pressing the Set alarm button directly activates the audio. Also check that your device volume is on and not in silent mode.

What is the alarm time based on?

The alarm time is based on the system clock of the device you are using (computer or phone). The device clock must be accurate for the alarm to ring accurately, so it is best to keep automatic time setting on. This alarm is a supplementary aid; check your device clock for the exact time.
